How these numbers are made
Every hour, EUMETSAT’s Meteosat satellites estimate the sunshine reaching the ground across Africa and Europe on a 5 km grid. We read the square over the city you pick. Each hour is published about two hours after it ends.
To show a value for this minute, we compare the latest satellite hour with the sunshine a perfectly clear sky would have given at that moment. That share is the sky clarity, and we apply it to the clear-sky value for now, calculated from the sun’s exact position over that city.
The cleaning outlook reads the daytime wind, rain and cloud forecast from MET Norway. Strong winds carry fresh dust, so cleaning just before them is wasted; rain rinses panels for free.
